Today in class... Test
Today in class we took our test on American History. So last night he sent out an email about what we should study and that helped me out a lot because I was really confused on what we needed to know. We were also allowed to use our blogs but first off my internet wasn't working and I didn't feel like taking all of my test taking time to try and figure out my internet issues. Second my computer was about to die so I probably wouldn't have been able use my blogs by the time i figured out the wifi stuff. Third I looked through the questions and realized how easy the test was and that I didn't need my blogs in the first place so I think I did really well on the test. I actually think I got a 100%.

Today in class... Review for Test
Today in class we pretty much just went over all of the notes that we have taken in class on this unit. As we were going over the notes Mr. Schick told us what would be good to know and what we didn't have to worry about. I was still pretty much lost the entire time because as we were going over the notes I realized that my notes for some reason were out of order so it was pretty hard to follow along so I just gave up. I'm just gonna study everything I have in my notes.

Today in class... Mr. O'Hara
Today in class Mr. Schick had his teacher review thing so Mr. O'Hara was in class to observe. I felt bad for Mr. Schick though. First off that one kid that keeps coming into our class came again and to me hes kind of annoying because he distracts the people on my side of the room and they will just talk the whole time. Also everyone had their laptops open and were probably playing games which also didn't look good for him. After Mr. O'Hara left a lot of people (including me) kept dozing off and eventually fell asleep. I mean I pulled through until like the last five mins. Idk all I know is that when I woke up, Mr. Schick was still on the same slide.

Today in class... Slides on Slides on Slides
Today seemed like it was never ending... especially this class. It just seemed to go on forever and ever. Not gonna lie I fell asleep. Idk why I was so tired today but I couldn't keep my eyes open. We talked about the the Constitution and more of the Articles in the Constitution. I'm about to fall asleep again bc I just had practice and that took SOOOO much out of me. Idk how I'm gonna function tomorrow.

Today in class... Everyone is sick!
Today in school everyone is sick and getting sick! There is a rumor going around school saying that if I think its like over 10% or 20% of the school or something is out sick then the school has to close. I'm really hoping that its true. Also Mr. Schick warned us that the school is starting to get stricter on the whole dress code situation. Another thing that I think is really unnecessary is that we are going to have a computer in the hallway that we will need to use to sign in if we are late. What have we come to. What was ever wrong with going to the secretary. i never thought that lateness was such a big deal that my tuition money has to pay for something to give us a hallway pass instead of something more important like oh idk maybe some HEAT or AC!

Today in class... Cupid's Corner
Today in class it is Valentines Day! I honestly don't know why I put a exclamation point with that sentence because I hate Valentines Day. Its just such a depressing day for people who don't have a Valentine *cough cough* me *cough cough*. Anyways today Mr. Schick let us watch the new JC video on YouTube called Cupid's Corner. It was basically a video with all the cutest and most popular couples in JC answering questions about each other. It was really cute actually. Also Mr. and Mrs. Attanasio were in the video and they are honestly so stinkin' cute. After we watched the video, we talked about Amendments and we touched on religion in schools like we did the other day. My views haven't changed.

Today in class... Tests
Today in class we got our tests back and I got an 88... very upset. On the bright side Mr. Schick said he was going to add three points on our overall test grade because he had made a mistake on the test itself which caused may people to get an answer wrong. When we were going over the test I found that I had skipped a question adn failed to answer it which really made me mad at myself because if I would've simply just answered that question then my grade could be 2.5 points higher than what it is right now... SMH (shaking my head).

Today in class... Religion in Public Schools
Today in class we had this huge discussion about whether or not public schools should allow prayer and whether or not they should make the lesson on how the Earth was created based on the book of Genesis. I personally think that prayer is an okay thing to allow as long as you allow all prayer of all different religions is allowed and I also feel that it is okay as long as teachers don't make kids pray according to their religion. As far as the lesson on how the Earth is made, I feel it would be okay as long as you incorporated all different religions and how they all believe the Earth was created. If that isn't possible then they should continue the way they are teaching it as of now except they should say that the Big Bang is exactly the way it happened. They should put emphasis on it being a theory.

Today in class... Constitution Assisgnment
Today in class we walked in to find Mr. Schick not here. Our sub told us that he left an assignment for us on Veracross... which was not there so for half of this period we all have just been sitting around chatting and looking at dresses for the winter dance coming up. About half way through this period we all checked Veracross again and Mr. Schick had put the assignment up. So here it is... a brief summary of the Constitution.

Article 4:

Article 5:
Amendments- The Constitution can be changed and new amendments can be added by approval of 2/3 votes in each house of Congress and 3/4 votes by the states.
Article 6:

Today in class... New Blog
So as you can tell I made a new blog for Western Civ. I know its a little late but I just felt like a new semester along with a "new" class deserved a new blog. So today Kate came back from Florida and I was so excited because I missed her so much! She again as usual was playing with my hair in class lol. Basically today we went over the notes we started to take in class last Friday so that Kate and everyone else that was absent could catch up. We also talked about the 3/5 Compromise and how bizarre that was. We obvioudly realize now that a person should never be considered any less than a whole person.
